THE QUADRANT FELLOWSHIP: Scholars pursuing interdisciplinary work may apply for a semester-long fellowship at the University of Minnesota for the academic year 2012-2013. Quadrant is a joint initiative of the University of Minnesota Press, a leader in interdisciplinary scholarly publishing, and the Institute for Advanced Study. Deadline for complete applications is Nov. 17, 2011. Electronic submissions are preferred. Paper submissions must be postmarked by Nov. 17, 2011.

THE GATES MILLENNIUM SCHOLARS PROGRAM: The online scholarship application is now available for first-time college students in the fall 2012. The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. EST. Students selected will receive scholarship to use at any college or university. In addition, scholars receive personal and professional development through leadership programs and academic support throughout their college career.

THE WHITE HOUSE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM: The White House Internship Program provides young adults the opportunity to get professional experience and build leadership skills. While bolstering their knowledge of the Executive Office, the internship is designed to develop young leaders and prepare them for public service work. According to whitehouse.gov the application for the 2012 summer program will post online Nov. 14, 2011. The internship dates are May 29 - Aug. 10, 2012.

The AP-GOOGLE JOURNALISM & TECHNOLOGY SCHOLARSHIP: This new Associated Press-Google scholarship program, administered by the Online News Association, will provide $20,000 scholarships for the 2012-13 academic year to six undergraduate or graduate students pursuing or planning to pursue degrees at the intersection of journalism, computer science and new media. The application process is now open. Scholars will be chosen in spring 2012.
